Dixie Technical College New Campus Master Planning & Programming
St. George, UT
St. George, UT
When the Dixie Technical College acquired 30 acres of property in St. George, Utah, it was crucial that the college develop a long-term master plan for the property, as well as begin programming for the first new building on campus. The master plan investigated present use and development accounting for future growth of the campus and the college’s programs. This included an assessment of utility and infrastructure needs for present and future development of the campus.
The New Permanent Campus Building consisted of 120,000 square feet of higher education administrative, classroom, and laboratory space, as well as industrial high bay teaching labs. The building houses the diesel technology, drafting and design, manufacturing operations, medical assisting, office management, and pharmacy technician programs for the college.
VBFA provided mechanical design consulting for both the master plan and programming of the new building. This led to a contract for the full design of the new building, which was successfully completed in 2018.
