The Utah State University USTAR (Utah Science Technology And Research Initiative) BioInnovations Complex is a 110,000 s.f. research laboratory building, including wet labs, lab support, offices, vivarium and biosafety level 3 spaces.  USTAR’s purpose is to facilitate discoveries, inventions and innovations and involves  two main components, research personnel and a facility to house these people.  Mechanical systems, designed by VBFA are play an important role in providing a safe environment for the people within the building, providing a building that is sustainable and energy efficient, and heating, cooling, ventilation, process systems, and plumbing systems necessary to facilitate the research programs.
